This last weekend I headed out to Sauvie Island (if you haven’t gone, you must) to pick some strawberries for some jam I’ll be making. I love driving past all the farms on Sauvie’s and seeing what they all have to offer. It was a beautiful day for it! We are at the tail end of our strawberry season here so I had to work a bit harder for my harvest. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the raspberries were ready so I of course spent some time in the raspberry rows too!
It was great to be out in the sun picking berries, staining my hands, and catching random bits of different conversations happening around me!
The farm I stopped at had some beautiful rows of cabbage! We are harvesting cabbage at home now too! I’ll be trying to make my first batch of sauerkraut ever so stay tuned to see how that goes!
What harvests are you excited about right now?
